Menpes, Mortimer
Biography:
(1855-1938)
Studied at School of Design in Adelaide, National Art Training School,
London. The British press praised his gift to the British Museum, a
series of etched portraits. That same year he exhibited at the Royal
Academy, Summer Exhibition. Protégé for James McNeill Whistler. Works in
major museums around the world.
