Biography: (1873-1960)
Chicago artist. Studied at AIC, in Paris with Friez,
Gleizes, Lhote, in Provincetown with Hawthorne, Nordfeldt, Zorach.
Member of Chicago SA, Chicago AC, NYSWA, Cordon. Exhibits include:
Provincetown AA (1916), PAFA Ann., 1918 and 1920, Salon de Autonomne &
Salon de Independants (1925-35), Salons of America, S. indp. A., AIC,
Women Painters of Am., Wichita Mus. Art (prize), Gal. Carmine in Paris,
Nat. Arts Club Gal., NYC, Marshall field Gals (1920's-40's with "The
Ten"), MoMa (16 cities) and elsewhere. Works at Detroit IA.
Known as teacher, painter, block printer and sculpture, listed in Who
was Who in American Art, 1975.
