at Newark School of Fine Art, Grand Central School of Art and ASL under
Brackman and Grabach. Member of NAD, AWCS, Audubon Artists, WCC in
Washington, Baltimore, New Jersey, Allied Artists, Mississippi AA, New
Jersey AA, New Haven PCC, SSAL, AAPL, NSAA, Rockport AA among many other
organizations. Highlights of very extensive exhibitions include: NAD,
1942-45, AIC, AWCS, SSAL and countless listed others. Many were prize
winning entries including the famed Steiger Award, Osborne Prize, Julius
Hallgarten Prize, Montclair Art Museum (many prizes). Works grace MMA,
BMFA, Newark Museum, Fine Arts Gallery, San Diego and many others. Very
well listed artist in Who's Who.

Biography:
(1871 - 1946) Famed
artist/teacher who painted in Provincetown from 1919-45. Countless
shows, awards, worldwide. French Government bought one of his paintings
in 1904. Studied at BMFA, Academie Paris. Works hang at MMA, NAD, NYPL,
TMA, etc. Too much to list, well listed in Who's Who, Askart, etc.
Works have sold for as high as 28,750 in 1997 in auction.

Beachcombers. Exhibited: PAFA, 1922,24,26 (solo),30,32, 36-38. Also at:
NAD, AIC, 1928, Paris International, 1937, Salons of America. Works at
Children's Fountain, Wawbeck, WI (1950) and most notably the Pilgrim's
Landing tablets in Provincetown, MA. Also Frederick Waugh Memorial,
memorial to Henry Major. After WW1, he started a foundry in
Haddonfield, NJ and became best known for his sculptures of seagulls,
often designed as fountains. He also had a foundry in Provincetown at
the end of Bangs Street, now is the location of the Beachcombers. Well
listed, Who's Who and others.

Albany Institute of History and Art, pilot member of FAWC for 3 years.

(1 season) and under Jim Forsberg, Bruce McKain, Edwin Dickinson and
Myron Stought. Teaches at Castle Hill, PAAM. Works in Truro, Bethlehem,
PA., Pilgrim Monument, PAAM, Ptown Town Collection, Indian Museum,
Alaska, Bethlehem Historic Museum. Grants include 1971, Yale Univ.,
1987, State of Mass. Extremely sought out artist of Cape Cod. In
