yielded a lot on a Carol Freeman famous for her photography and her environmental

for an oil on canvas, $25,760.00. 14 Lillian Orlowsky: (1914-2004)
Represented by the Cherry Stone Gallery in Wellfleet (Aug. 3-15, 2004,
"Dialogue with Hofmann: Paintings by Lillian Orlowsky, a solo show not to
miss!) and in Boston, Acme Fine Art Gallery. Studied with Hans Hofmann at
his Provincetown school and was considered his most important student. She
stayed in the Days Lumberyard (now Fine Arts Work Center) until William Freed
and her opened their own studio.. Other artists there at the time
(1930-50's) were Bruce McKain, George McNeil, Fritz Bultman, William Freed (her
husband) and others. First exhibit was at New York World's Fair in 1939.
Her works grace the permanent collections of MoMA, The Jerusalem Museum in
Israel, the Archives of the Smithsonian Institute in DC, Provincetown Art Assoc.

Artist, 2002. Well listed artist. 15 Lynne Foy: Represented by the Galleria Artemisia,
Provincetown. Well known
for her nostalgic, atmospheric landscapes, which are multilayered, with respect
to both their structural composition and symbolic meaning. Her temperamental
seas, cosmic skyscapes, and ambiguously configured foot paths would appear to
engage and invite the observer on a journey to another time or place, within
this world or the imagined universe, and often within oneself. 15a Jonathan Blum: Represented by the Ernden Gallery,
Provincetown. Studied at MFA, Boston, Emerson College and Central
Art School in London. Well known for his cartoons in Stuff Magazine
(Boston, 1988), he works mostly in mono prints. He has had one-person
shows in Washington, D.C.; Provincetown; Boston; New Orleans; London; Berlin;
Tel Aviv; and Prague. He currently lives and works in a storefront space in Park

1938. 17 David Barton: (born 1953) Studied at

Collection. 18a Michele Dangelo: Was represented by
the Julie Heller Gallery, now at Dragonfly Gallery, Martha's Vineyard and the
Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet and others. The recipient of many awards, she
left an MBA career to pursue art. Inspired by Robert Henri, she primarily
paints houses. Listed and very collected. 19 Ellen Lebow: Represented by
Rice/Pollack Gallery and the Cherry Stone Gallery in Wellfleet. A local
Wellfleet artist, she had the distinction of having a one woman show in Havana.
Traveling extensively throughout the world, she has been a force in the Boston
and Provincetown art world., She designed coffee cup for WOMR fundraiser and
many other collectible images and designs. 20 Gerry Brennan: (b.1941)
Show at Provincetown Library, August 2003. Studied under Jim Peters, Steve
Kennedy and Gail Browne, PIAI and Ilona Royce Smithkin at PAAM. Also with
Marjorie Portnow, FAWC and Castle Hill (landscape). Also had entered PAAM
Member's Juried and sold in first days. Emerging
artist to watch. 20a O. Walter Donnenfeld: Studied at
Newport Art Association, Goodman Sch., Chicago, the Museum Sch., MFA,
Boston, Bennington Coll. (Art New England), Fine Arts Work Center, and the
Vermont Studio Center, VT. Influences include Cynthia Packard, James Lechay,

National Academy of Design, studied under Hawthorne, wife of Ross Moffett. 29 Albert Edel: (1890 - 1961)
Strong affiliation with Provincetown and Massachusetts. Exhibited at PAAM
and is in their permanent collection. Often known for his marine
renderings. As time has passed with each auction, I have been able to
gather more information about him. He had a gallery name the Edel Gallery
in Provincetown in the 1960's. Was a predominant etcher. Each
auction, the prices are going up. 29a Lee Musselman: Information
previously listed (Lot 8a). 30 Anne Packard: (b.1933) Represented by
the Packard Gallery, Provincetown. Studied at Bard College and with Philip
Malicoat. Extremely collectible artist with countless shows including
Arden Gallery, Blazing Gallery and many others. In too many collections to
list. Granddaughter of famed local artist Max Bohm. 31 John Hare: (1909 - 1978) Well
known Provincetown, Gloucester and St. Augustine. Known as the dean
of watercolorist on Cape Cod, his works have lately become highly coveted.
He had exhibited at one time with the Munson Gallery. Resided in 1939 in
St. Augustine and was one of the Art Club members. He had an incredible gift of
painting water/shore scapes. 32 Arthur Diehl: (1870-1929) Largely
self-taught. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, 1899. Progress Expo, Ct. 1927.
He came to New York in 1891 penniless and painted snuff box tops and such.
Listed in AskArt and Who's Who, but never sold in gallery or dealer. Fox
Movietone made a short movie of Diehl painting and talking in Provincetown. 33 Jim Peters: (born 1945)

2002) Was represented by the Kiley Court Gallery and before that the Lee

the early 1990's. He studied art in various community colleges and
institutions. He was a prolific artist with a large following and in many collections here and abroad.

viewer their own interpretation of the world they enter in my paintings. I

James Hansen came to
Provincetown in the early 1980s and worked for several summers in a studio
at the Fine Arts Work Center. During his years in Provincetown, he
befriended many local artists, including sculptor Paul Bowen, and painters
Claude Simard and Myriam Laplante. James died in 1997 at the age of 45. An
instructor at Yale and Brandeis, he exhibited at the Institute of
Contemporary Art in Boston, the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City,
the Alpha Gallery in Boston, the UFO and East End galleries in
Provincetown, the Eva Cohen Gallery in Chicago and in numerous other
locations across the U.S. His work is in permanent collections of the
