The signature is somewhat illegible
but certain characteristics of this painting makes me attribute this to the
Hawthorne School. Also, the location of this painting is unsure but it
possibly could be a Provincetown street scene or a Cape Scene. Slight

Extremely well known folk artist and
furniture painter. Very few of his items come to market. He had some

Daughter of the famed Manchester, CT. family that made silk textiles. A
portrait of her hangs at the Hartford Atheneum, painted by Edward Willard
Deming, NA. Not much else known about her, except to say this is a great

She picked Provincetown Printmakers that were making waves in the wood block
printing world. Originally selling for .50 each, the PAAM auction in Sept,

signature as this is a great early plein aire painting of early Provincetown,
even with a cow on in the road. It is signed on verso "Atwood Avenue,
