& Mus. in Juneau. An amateur painter in Sitka and Wrangell, Alaska
(beginning in 1899) and when her husband was appointed Governor there.

entry into these auctions led to representation in 3 galleries. 8. signed Mayo: Unsure which Mayo this is. 9. Peter Shulman: (20th century) Extremely well known and
collected artist. He first claimed fame with his "Fried Egg" pop art painting
that hung at the Bianchi Gallery, NY along with Andy Warhol and Roy
Lichtenstein. He has had more than 110 solo shows and 400 groups exhibits. More
than 2000 paintings of his have been sold and are part of museum, private,

show at Wellfleet Bank. Extremely popular in these auctions. Has several shows
running in various Cape Cod establishments. 13. Libby Trynz: (1904-2000) Painted in Provincetown for over 55
years, studied for many years at PAAM. Mentor was Remo Farruggio, recent PAAM
auction yielded a new record price. 14. Judith Fulmer: Information
previously listed, Lot #3. 15. John Cutberth Hare: (1909 - 1978) Well known Provincetown,
Gloucester and St. Augustine. Known as the dean of watercolorist on Cape Cod,
his works have lately become highly coveted. He had exhibited at one time with
the Munson Gallery. Resided in 1939 in St. Augustine and was one of the Art Club
members. He had an incredible gift of painting water/shore scapes. 16. Andrew Kooistra: (born 1926) Studied Mus. FA, Boston with

grandfather, Charles Sprague, the poet. 26. Jackson Lambert: (b.1919) Artist and resident of
Provincetown for over 40 years. Originally living in the Oliver Day Studios
($50.00 a season), his works include the permanent collections of several local
prominent art collectors and the Provincetown Art Association & Museum. Also
well known for his weekly column in the Provincetown Banner. 27. Peter Hunt: (1898-1969) Extremely well known folk artist and
furniture painter. Very few of his items come to market. He had some very well
known students painting for him in the 60's Nancy Whorf, Carol Whorf Westcott
and Francis Shea are among his many students and painters of the furniture and
collectible items. Recent auction prices are seeing his works and works of his

Famed artist/teacher who painted in Provincetown from 1919-45. Countless shows,
awards, worldwide. French Government bought one of his paintings in 1904.

much to list, well listed in Who's Who, Askart, etc. Works have sold for as high

known for his landscapes and New York city scapes. Also a set designer and

Provincetown from the 1930s until her death in 1989, Mary Hackett has been
described by Philip Hamburger in The New Yorker (September 9, 1996) as "a
painter fools might label 'primitive' but whom those with eyes to see recognize

Meadville Theological Sem., mostly a self-taught artist. Member of: Miami Art

James Hansen came to Provincetown in the early 1980s and worked for several
summers in a studio at the Fine Arts Work Center. During his years in
Provincetown, he befriended many local artists, including sculptor Paul Bowen,
and painters Claude Simard and Myriam Laplante. James died in 1997 at the age of
45. An instructor at Yale and Brandeis, he exhibited at the Institute of
Contemporary Art in Boston, the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City, the
Alpha Gallery in Boston, the UFO and East End galleries in Provincetown, the Eva
Cohen Gallery in Chicago and in numerous other locations across the U.S. His
work is in permanent collections of the Boston Public Library, the Museum of
Fine Arts in Boston, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, Cantor Art
Gallery, Boston, Portland State Univ. and others. He is the recipient of a
National Endowment for the Arts grant and a fellowship from the Massachusetts

painting are articles, listings and showings to her credit. 102. Victor Hugo: (1942-1993) Studied at Art
Students' League. Was Window Designer for Halston (also Halston's life partner).
Influenced and assisted Andy Warhol in his "Piss Paintings" in the 70's.
Immortalized in Warhol Black & White photographs and was often seen at Studio 54
with his outrageous performances. He did many erotic artworks as well as a
series of "Statue of Liberty", "Flowers" and "Fried Eggs". Well documented in
the "Andy Warhol Diaries", published in 1989. 103. Albert Edel: (1890 - 1961) Strong
affiliation with Provincetown and Massachusetts. Exhibited at PAAM and is in
their permanent collection. Often known for his marine renderings. As time has
passed with each auction, I have been able to gather more information about him.
He had a gallery name the Edel Gallery in Provincetown in the 1960's. Was a
predominant etcher. Each auction, the prices are going up. 104. Marguerite E. Falconer: (1919 - )
Represented by the Wynne/Falconer Gallery, Chatham. Chatham artist. Listed,

extensive research, the only artist that palette and application could be the
same is a German artist named Peter Martensen and on further research, feel this
