10  Julia KellyDaughter of famed Provincetown artist, Nancy Whorf, she studied with Leo Manso and Henry Kendal of Provincetown.  Also at Art Institute of Boston and taught at Brookline Center Arts. Traveling and painting throughout France, Spain, New England and the Caribbean a few of her major exhibits include:  Aerial Perspective show, M.I.T. Cambridge, MA;  One Woman Show, Elliot Museum, Stuart, FL;  Four Generation Exhibit, Provincetown Art Association'  Generations in Art Exhibit, Center for the Arts, Vero Beach, FL and extensive one woman shows in galleries in Boston, Provincetown, Florida and Puerto Rico.  Her work may be seen in private and corporate collections on both coasts and in Canada.  Countless exhibits worldwide and include PAAM (1969 at age 16).  She also has exhibited with many prominent Boston Painters in the juried shows at The Copley Society.

12  Al Hirschfeld(1903-2002) Extremely well known caricature artist of New York fame (New Yorker, New York Times).  He was to be 100 years old next year and has the distinction of being the first artist to have a theater named after him (Martin Beck Theater at 45th Street).  Studied at NAD in NY, Julian in Paris.  Works hang at MoMA, MMA, Brooklyn Museum.  This etching plus others in this auction never hit auction market before.  Also has book out, "The World of Al Hirschfeld".

29  William F Boogar, Jr. (attributed to):  (1893-1958)  Studied at PAFA and with Charles Hawthorne in Provincetown.  Member of PAAM and Beachcombers.  Exhibited: PAFA, 1922,24,26 (solo),30,32, 36-38. Also at: NAD, AIC, 1928, Paris International, 1937, Salons of America.  Works at Children's Fountain, Wawbeck, WI (1950) and most notably the Pilgrim's Landing tablets in Provincetown, MA.  Also Frederick Waugh Memorial, memorial to Henry Major.  After WW1, he started a foundry in Haddonfield, NJ and became best known for his sculptures of seagulls, often designed as fountains. He also had a foundry in Provincetown at the end of Bangs Street, now is the location of the Beachcombers.  Well listed, Who's Who and others.

50   James Lechay(1907-2001)  Studied: Univ. of Illinois, then arrived in New York at time of depression and started working as WPA Artist.  Mostly a self-taught artist.  Exhibited at: Corcoran Gallery, Whitney Museum, MoMA.  Works at: Chicago Art Institute, PAAM, National Collection of Fine Art (Smithsonian), and many other museums.  Taught at: Univ. of Iowa, Stanford Univ., NYU, Skowhegan School, the Studio Art School of the Aegean, Chinese Univ. of Hong Kong and other places.  Awards include: Obrig and Altmann Prize (NAD), Kraushaar Gallery, NY (his dealer of 50 years), Berta Walker Gallery and Cherry Stone Gallery, Wellfleet.  Also known as an Artist Activist, he was leader of Artists Union in the 1930's.  Worked on staff of Provincetown Banner and painted until his death (August 11, 2001).
