PLEASE NOTE FOR ALL ABSENTEE BIDDERS:
Along with below instructions, it is important to you know that we date and time the receipt of your bid.  The first bid in on any lot that receives a matching bid but not higher, will be awarded to the earliest bid recorded.  In this fact, it is most advisable to email your bid(s) and/or phone bid request  rather than any other format since this route truly gives all parties a paper trail:  terry@outercapeauctions.com.

ABOUT PHONE BIDS

We will be offering three phone lines per lot.  We will be using cell phone service which is still precarious on the lower cape.  If you wish to reserve a phone line, you may be suggested to leave a back up absentee bid in the event that we should lose the connection during the auction.  You may also be asked to leave a credit card number as security.   Please call 508.487.7281 to reserve your phone line or email:  terry@outercapeauctions.com.

 ABOUT ABSENTEE BIDS

In the event that you are not able to make it to our auctions, then you may bid by absentee bid.  Outer Cape Art Auctions bids all bids on your behalf competitively.  This means that we do not start out with your highest bid.  The Auctioneer will open the bidding to the floor with the acknowledgment of an absentee bid placed on the lot.  The Auctioneer, at his discretion, will open the bidding on the lot at about half the estimated selling price.  He will bid on your behalf.  Following are the increment amounts you can expect  although it is left to the Auctioneer's discretion on bump amounts.

0 - 500              $        25.00     
501 - 1000         $       50.00
1001 - 5000       $    100.00
5001 - 10,000    $    250.00
10,001 and up    $1,000.00

These bidding increments are solely up to the auctioneer and can change depending on several things: value of the lot, amount of people on opening bid, etc.

It is the sole responsibility as to the value, condition, and authenticity of each lot you wish Outer Cape Art Auctions to bid on for you.  We make no warranty as to the value, condition and authenticity of each lot.  To find out more information on lots you wish to place absentee bids on, please call or email Outer Cape Art Auctions at least 3 days prior to the auction date to receive more information on the lots of interest to you.

It is very important to understand that we record the date and time when a bid has been received.  They are filed in order of first bid in is the first, second is second and so on.  You must be aware of this as all bids received by Outer Cape Auctions are strictly confidential and we cannot release amounts to other prospective bidders and/or sellers.  In the event that there are 2 bids of the same amount and that amount is the selling price, and there are no other bids, then the first bid in will be awarded the lot.

The following day of the auction, a representative of Outer Cape  Auctions will call you to inform you of the lots you have successfully bid on, and also the lots that you did not.  On lots you were unsuccessful with, please check out the auction results 3 days from the auction date to find out the selling prices.

You will be informed of selling price, Buyer's premium charges of 17% (SEVENTEEN percent) and 6.25%  (six point two five percent) Massachusetts sales tax if applicable.  Buyer's Premiums are taxable according to Massachusetts State Law.

All items bid on by absentee bid must be paid for within 3 days of the auction unless prior arrangements have been made.  If you have a reseller number and are within the state of Massachusetts, the proper form must be filled out before sales tax can be exempt from the total.

If the item is being shipped out of state, there is no state sales tax.  We do not package items purchased in auctions.  We prefer to outsource this to the Mailspot in Provincetown.  508.487.6650.  You may also make arrangements with your own shipper or other such arrangements.

If you wish to pay by credit card, a manual imprint of the card may be required on all purchases before release of the purchase to purchaser.  The imprint is to include date, final amount and your signature.  This must be in our files before we can begin the transaction.  This is for your security purpose.
